Cornell Small Gatherings Prompt Coronavirus Contact Tracing
The Ithaca Journal reports nine Cornell University students who attended parties or other small gatherings where masks were not worn have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Cornell students were informed of the outbreak August 29.
Tompkins County Health officials say that even though the gatherings where mask-wearing was ignored were small, the danger of the chance of rapid spread of the coronavirus is evident.
Contact tracing is currently underway and anyone who may have been exposed is encouraged to be tested.
