Community Spirit At The Central NY Maple Festival’s Pancake Eating Contest
It's the 53rd annual Central NY Maple Festival in Marathon this Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th. It all starts Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with a Pancake Eating contest. I'll be there eating pancakes like I'm on a timer...that's because I am.
I'll be eating pancakes against other contestants at the Marathon High School Auditorium. We may be competing against each other but the winners are the charities that we are eating for. All of us have been raising money for every pancake we eat.

The newly crowned Maple Festival Queen and her court will be greeting all of the hungry pancake eaters. It is a 15 minute contest filled with fun, good cheer and great causes. I'm happy to be back especially after this entrance in 2014.
2014 Central NY Maple Festival Pancake Eating Contest Introduction
This year I'll be eating for "The Bridge Community Center" located at 143 Baldwin Street in Johnson City. They offer a wide variety of services for kids of all ages, including an after-school program, addiction recovery, and more.
They recently reopened their after-school program after some renovations. The free after school program includes:
STEM Class
Crafts Room
Gym (bball, dodgeball, kickball)
Lounge (led by our community partners)
Littles Lounge (ages 4-7)
Dinner
The Bridge is serving kids, loving their neighbors, and making a difference. You can help me build a bridge toward helping these kids.

You can make a flat donation or by the pancake through PayPal (deltad74@stny.rr.com) or Venmo (Dawn-Pitcher-1), if you would like. If you come to the contest on Saturday morning, I'll have my Top Hat at the front of the stage too
As an added bonus, the CNY Maple Festival will give a donation for every pancake that I eat too. You can see all the pancake eaters and their causes here as I eat as if there are no repercussions. At least it is for a very good cause.
The Pancake Eating contest is only the beginning of the festivities and fun in Marathon this weekend. To see everything that is going on...and there is a lot...go here. I hope to see you at the festival on Saturday morning and as they say "It's a Pancake Party."
It is a pancake eating contest, so you might be thinking syrup, and when you think of syrup, you might be thinking Canada.
