Every year you get your mom flowers for Mother's Day and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, get her flowers and then take her to the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park. It's a special gift that the whole family can enjoy together and it won't cost you a dime for mom.

It's free admission for all the mothers on Sunday, May 13th. Come to the Binghamton Zoo and enjoy a Keeper Talk, it's a way to learn something new from their zookeepers and you'll have a great time too.

Here's the schedule:
11:30 a.m. Red panda with animal art painting session
12:30 p.m. Red wolf
2 p.m. Tortoise racing (weather and temperature permitting)
2:30 p.m. African penguin feeding
3 p.m. Big cat spotlight
Mother's Day at the Binghamton Zoo is brought to you by 98.1 the Hawk. Listen to the Hawk Morning Show all week and you could win free admission to the zoo on Sunday for the rest of the family.
Don't forget next Saturday, May 19th is the Flea Market and Book Sale in the lower parking lot. Yard sale items, crafts and business vendors will be set up. It's free to attend.
The Education Center will have gently used books to buy with the proceeds going to the zoo's Global Conversation Fund. Tara and I went last year and we were pleasantly surprised with the selection and the prices. These event's run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 5th oldest zoo admission booth is open from  10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day with the zoo closing at 5 p.m. and is located at 60 Morgan Road in Binghamton.
