I've eaten many meals with Glenn Pitcher and have seen how capable he is of packing away food, but on Saturday, I got to watch him chow down competition style. Lucky girl, huh?
It's the 44th annual Central NY Maple Festival in Marathon this Saturday and Sunday. It all starts Saturday morning at 9 with a Pancake Eating contest. I'll be there eating pancakes like I'm on a timer......that's because I will be.
Binghamton Restaurant Week, April 1-10 is one incredible idea that was started a few years back. It's a great way to sample restaurants you may not be familiar with or restaurants you may not have visited in a while. Not only does it benefit your appetite but also local charities. A portion of the proceeds benefit VINES as well as the Binghamton Boys and Girls Clubs.
Paying the Winter heating bills this season has been been a great challenge for many of us including local animal shelters like Project Paw. What makes it even more tough for shelter is they don't receive funding from the county, city or state, like some other local shelters do. They rely strictly on individual donations. And the number of cats housed at Project Paw is at an all-time high.
