Carrie Underwood took the 2018 American Music Awards stage Tuesday night (Oct. 9) dramatically, as she has proven a master of doing so in past years. The singer — visibly pregnant with her second child — donned a billowing red gown to deliver a rendition of "Spinning Bottles," a song lamenting the challenges substance abuse and addiction.

It's a song from her new album, Cry Pretty, but not her latest single.

Underwood, who had already wowed the Los Angeles crowd with a striking, curve-hugging red carpet look that celebrated her pregnancy, moved amid a set filled with glass bottles and lit candles as she sang the melancholy song, which is the ninth track on her latest release. Underwood co-wrote the song with David Garcia and Hillary Lindsey.

The American Music Awards honorees are tracked by Billboard, with winners based on total fan interaction, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring numbers in a specific period (Sept. 15, 2017 through Aug. 9, 2018 for the 2018 awards). The 2018 AMAs were broadcast live on ABC from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater.
