Buffalo Bills Sign Johnson City Native To Bolster Their Defense
After seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans and one year with the Carolina Panthers, DaQuan Jones is getting about as close to home as he can get. The 6 feet 4 inch defensive tackle from Johnson City is going to the Buffalo Bills.
As any Bills will tell you, LET'S GO BUFFALO and that's what Jones is going to do. Buffalo was 13 seconds away from going to the Super Bowl and Jones is coming home to see if he can help them get over the hump and to the big game.
DaQuan Jones Signs With The Buffalo Bills
DaQuan brings a defensive presence by clogging the middle that the Bills desperately need. He's a run-stopper that can put pressure on the quarterback as well. You may have heard the saying "the best ability is availability."
Jones certainly has that. He's been a full-time starter since 2015 and only missed 4 games in 2017 and hasn't missed any games since. He signed a two-year, $14 million contract, with $10.6 million guaranteed
At Johnson City, he was not only a football star, he also played basketball and threw the shot put. I remember reffing one of his modified basketball games, even as early as a 7th grader, I could tell that young man had the potential to go places...and he certainly has.
Speaking of Johnson City, he hasn't forgotten his roots and is doing what he can to give back. Recently he and his wife opened the Legacy Lounge in downtown Binghamton near the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena.
