Broome’s Arena Gets Sound Improvements
It’s hoped some shiny new lights and terrific tweeters and woofers will mean more and better shows at a big entertainment venue in the Greater Binghamton Area.
The Visions Veterans’ Memorial Arena is enjoying some upgrades thanks to a grant from New York State. $375,000 has been awarded to the facility in a State Assembly grant.
$325,000 went to the improving the aging sound system in the Arena with the remaining $50,000 for upgrades to the arena lighting system allowing for better effects that are more in line with today’s performance requirements.
The improvements were finished prior to the start of the Binghamton Black Bears’ hockey season.
Officials say the upgrades are not only great for improving the experience of audiences and fans but can improve the chances of booking acts that expect more sophisticated technology than the Arena had been able to offer.
