Broome Opioid Prevention Mini-Grants Available

At the same time Broome County is reporting a spike in opioid overdoses and deaths, the County is announcing the fourth year of mini-grant funding for overdose prevention efforts.

The Broome Opioid Awareness Council (BOAC) has announced it is releasing funds for another year of opioid overdose prevention mini-grants.

Officials say awards will range in size with up to $13,000 in funding available to fund education, treatment, intervention and training programs.

Mini-grants are available for non-profit organizations, community agencies, municipalities and schools to develop or enhance opioid-related activities in the county.

The applications close at 4 p.m. on March 2.

Successful applicants will be awarded a contract until November 30, 2022, contingent on the success of the program.
