
Broome County Beach Re-Opens After Algae Outbreak
After the closure of the Dorchester Park Beach last week, The Broome County Parks & Recreation Facebook page has announced the re-opening of the popular beach.
WNBF's Bob Joseph reported on the closing last week. Officials cited high temperatures and a boom in blue-green algae as a reason for the closure of the beach last week,
Beach hours are 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The New York State Health Department advises that some blue-green algae can produce toxins.
