The Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Youth Services is hosting their 4th Annual Beach Bash at Nathaniel Cole Park on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. This free, family event begins at 2 p.m. and is filled with activities for all ages.

Fun All Afternoon

There is swimming, boating, and beach games. Cornell Cooperative Extension will lead a guided walk and pond study. There will be food and drink vendors, live music from Odd Man Out at 3 p.m., plus face painting, balloon animals, and a performance by Flo in Motion. Illusionist David Black will also take the stage.

Evening Entertainment

At dusk, the park staff will light fire pits to roast marshmallow and s’mores. The night will end with a fireworks show over the water.

Food and Drinks

Food vendors will have chicken, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, funnel cakes, ice cream, kettle corn, lemonade, and more. You can also bring your own food to cook on the park’s grills (charcoal and lighter not provided). New Leaf Cider Co. will host a beer garden from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for adults 21 and older.

Parking and Transportation

On-site parking is free. BC Transit will provide free round-trip transportation from the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton. Departure times from the Arena are 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m., with return times from Cole Park at 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 p.m. Drivers could see heavy traffic when leaving the park.

Other Details

Dogs on a leash are welcome in all areas except the beach. Owners have to clean up after their pets. All Broome County parks are smoke-free except in designated areas (parking lot only). Drones and remote-controlled boats or cars are not allowed. Go here for more information.
