There really is no substitute for blood and patients in need of blood have to rely on donations. You'll be helping to save lives as one donation can save up to three lives. On Wednesday, May 17th, there is a Blood Drive and Bake Sale in honor of Jennifer Hall and Connor Murray. It's at the American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson Street in Binghamton.

Jen was a dedicated mom and her pride and joy was her daughter Connor. Jen's family meant everything to her. When Connor passed away, Jen organized events to honor her precious daughter including a Nursing scholarship at SUNY Broome and blood drives with the Red Cross.

Connor devastatingly passed away at the young age of 20 because of a pulmonary embolism. She had just graduated from nursing school two weeks before it happened. Connors passing changed Jen forever.

The Red Cross Blood Drive at the American Legion is a way to keep Jen and Connor's memories alive and stay connected to the community in a way that both of them did.

While you are at the American Legion, grab yourself a cookie, cupcake and other goodies baked by a friend of the show, Cookie Chris. All proceeds of the bake sale go to the Broome County Humane Society.

Help us honor these two great women while saving lives at the same time. The Blood Drive and Bake Sale is from 1 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson Street in Binghamton.

If you can't make it today, go here to find a place where you can give blood and save up to three lives.
