Binghamton Seeks Input on Pedestrian Upgrades

The City of Binghamton is accepting comments until July 10 on some plans to improve pedestrian safety.

Officials are looking at upgrading 22 sites across the City to make neighborhoods more walkable. 

Work will include improvements to sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks and signage.

Locations include walkways near Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, West Middle and East Middle schools, Binghamton General Hospital, Saint Michael’s Church, the Lee Barta Community Center on the North Side as well as other locations.

Officials say they expect construction will get started later this year and wrap up next spring.
