The Binghamton Rumble Ponies began the 2023 season on the road but they are home beginning on Tuesday, April 11th and the weather is going to cooperate. I remember last year's home opener at Mirabito Stadium as I was wearing my winter coat with temperatures in the 30's but what a difference a year makes.

The Rumble Ponies begin their season at home with a bang...literally. The Somerset Patriots (Double-A Yankees) come to Mirabito Stadium for six in a row and it all starts  on Twofer Tuesday with 2 for the price of 1 on select drinks.

First pitch on Tuesday is at 6:35 p.m. and stick around after the game to celebrate the win with the first (of many) firework nights at the ballpark.

The weather will cooperate for the rest of the week and into the weekend. First pitch on Wednesday through Friday at 6:05 p.m. and at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There is something different going on every home game including the newly announced Francisco Alvarez bobblehead giveaway on Saturday afternoon.

Francisco Alvarez Bobblehead Giveaway With The Binghamton Rumble Ponies

Alvarez played for the Rumble Ponies last year and has been called up to the New York Mets and was the starting catcher earlier this week for the big club. To celebrate his start, the first 1,000 fans to come to the game will get a Francisco Alvarez bobblehead.

By the way, if you missed it, there is another new member to the team. It's their second mascot and Rowdy's BFF from the farm. You'll have a chance to meet her during the first homestand of the year at Mirabito Stadium.

Temperatures will be in the 50's for the weekday night games and in the upper 70's for this weekend's day games (1:05 p.m.) It promises to be a great year with more audience participation games between innings, so you'll have a chance to win some really cool stuff. My daughter, Tara is back as one of the hosts at the ballpark. She's the one with the tie dye headband and the true star of the family.
