The American Business Women's Association Binghamton Chapter is hosting a fused-glass workshop this August, where attendees will build their own glass succulent under the guidance of Jablon Studios. You don't need any art background to join. The instructors walk you through the process from the first cut of glass to the finished piece.

Event Details: Glass Succulent Workshop in Binghamton

The workshop runs on Wednesday, August 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chenango Supply Company, 142 Susquehanna Street in Binghamton. Registration costs $25 per person, and organizers recommend signing up ahead of time since spots tend to fill.

What to Expect at an ABWA Networking and Craft Event

Most people show up for the craft and stay for the company. There's usually a stretch in the middle of these workshops when the room gets quiet, everyone focused on their own piece, then it gets loud again once people start comparing colors and asking each other questions. Refreshments are provided, and there's plenty of room to chat with the other women in attendance, whether you're catching up with someone you already know or meeting people for the first time.

A Unique Wednesday Night Activity in Binghamton

Skip the usual dinner and a movie routine this week. Bring a friend or come solo; it works either way. Either way, you'll walk out with a piece of glass art you made yourself and probably a name or two you didn't have in your phone before you got there.
