Detectives were seeking suspects following an apparent Binghamton home invasion incident in which a woman was assaulted.

Police units and city fire medics were sent to a one-family residence on Julian Street shortly before 1 p.m. Friday.

Although the fire department ambulance also was dispatched to the scene, it left without transporting anyone.

A detective supervisor indicated investigators were working to determine what happened in the reported home invasion. He was not able to release a description of possible suspects.

A police canine unit was used to search for evidence on Baxter Street, just north of the scene at Julian and Ronan streets. Officers canvassed the neighborhood seeking information from possible witnesses.
