As we watch Kmart leave along with all the rest of the fallen businesses in the Kmart Plaza. It's always nice to see new life in a plaza that's destination seems to be emptiness.

We've seen the cinema, the billiard lounge, Radio Shack, Grand Union grocery, Fashion Bug, Advance Auto, Wheels and National Auto, The Dollar Bizarre the Kmart Restaurant and now Kmart itself all fade into the sunset leaving open, empty spaces with an accompanying uneven parking lot.

Desolate shopping plazas make for the feeling of a failing localized economy amongst us "townies". That's the term the children who have decided to get their education here at one of our SUNY schools call us. I digress however and saw with my own eyes an honest to goodness flea market open in the old National Auto/Wheels/Advance Auto store front! We love Jimmays Flea Market in Conklin and now we have P&J Flea Market in that very plaza!

Looks like a pretty cool flea market like the one in the old Ames building in Cortland or in that Grand Union store front! Looks like it runs every weekend too!!
