
Binghamton Man with Multiple Warrants Arrested by Broome County Sheriff’s SRG
On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Christopher L. Knapp, 42, of Binghamton, was successfully apprehended by the Broome County Sheriff’s Strategic Response Group (SRG).
Knapp had been wanted on four separate warrants, including felony charges for Burglary in Johnson City, Probation Violation in Gloversville, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in Whitney Point, and Failure to Appear in Fultonville.
A Standoff on Moeller Street
Law enforcement located Knapp at an address on Moeller Street in the City of Binghamton. Knapp was seen working on a motorcycle outside the residence when deputies arrived on the scene.

Upon spotting law enforcement, Knapp fled into the house and attempted to escape. A brief struggle ensued as deputies tried to apprehend him.
Charges and Transfer to Johnson City Police
Knapp was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, due to his attempt to evade arrest.

After being taken into custody, Knapp was processed and later transferred to the Johnson City Police, where he will face charges related to his outstanding warrants.
