Most 8-year-olds are busy dreaming about swimming pools, playgrounds, and chasing after the ice cream truck. But this summer, Ariana’s mind is somewhere else. She is thinking about kids she’s never met, but already cares deeply about.

For the sixth summer in a row, this Binghamton girl is setting up her little refreshment stand, hoping to make Christmas a bit brighter for kids at the Wyoming Conference Children’s Home. What started as a simple idea between Ariana and her mom has slowly grown into something that’s making a real difference for other kids right here in our community.

The Moment Ariana Realized Some Children Might Go Without

Ariana’s mom, Ashley Chalker, says their family had been buying Christmas gifts for kids at the Wyoming Conference long before Ariana was even born. But one year, Ariana’s heart just broke. She realized they couldn’t afford to get presents for every single child.

Ariana couldn’t just let that feeling go. She decided she had to do something.

Ashley, who’s been raising Ariana on her own since day one, knew she couldn’t do it all herself. So, together, they turned to their neighbors and organized a fundraiser so anyone who wanted to help could make Christmas special for kids who might otherwise go without.

That one little idea has turned into a yearly tradition, all about kindness, compassion, and making sure kids feel seen and cared for during the holidays.

Helping Other People Has Become Part Of Who Ariana Is

Ashley says helping others is just part of who Ariana is now. She honestly loves volunteering.

She helps hand out food to people who don’t have a place to live, puts together care packages for anyone in need, and is always looking for little ways to help. Ashley says Ariana’s compassion stands out, even compared to most grown-ups she knows.

She’s not your typical 8-year-old,” Ashley says. “She really is trying to make the world a little better, one small act at a time.”

And maybe the best part? Ariana doesn’t do any of this for attention. She just wants other kids to feel happy, included, and loved.

Every Dollar Raised Helps Bring Christmas Joy To Other Children

Everything at Ariana’s stand is just $1, so pretty much anyone can stop by and help out.

You can grab a soda, juice box, some chips, cookies, or even a handmade bracelet. But really, what you’re buying is a chance to help make Christmas memories for kids who need them.

Every single dollar Ariana raises goes straight to buying gifts for the kids at the Wyoming Conference Children’s Home.

For a lot of us, grabbing a snack or drink doesn’t feel like much. But for a child waking up on Christmas morning to a gift picked just for them, it means the world.

Here’s How You Can Support Ariana’s Mission

Ariana’s refreshment stand will take place at 67 Thorp Street in Binghamton from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m on Saturday, June 13.

If you have a few minutes to stop by, you’re not just supporting a fundraiser; you’re encouraging a little girl who believes kindness matters and that helping others is always worth it. In a world that can feel a little heavy sometimes, maybe that’s the most important gift of all.

Those who cannot attend but would still like to donate can also contribute through Cash App at $Arianasmommy1 or Venmo at @AshleyChalker1.
