A Broome County grand jury has indicted two people on murder charges in connection with homicide investigations in Binghamton and Johnson City.

According to the district attorney's office, 29-year-old Mitchell Lindow of Binghamton was indicted on a count of first-degree murder.

Lindow is suspected of stabbing 36-year-old David Royes of Binghamton several times on December 2. Royes was attacked in an apartment at 110 Main Street. He died at a hospital a short time later.

33-year-old Kyle Babola of Johnson City also was indicted. He faces a count of second-degree murder. Investigators said Babola struck 55-year-old Scott Grover with a machete in a village residence on New Year's Eve. Grover died shortly after the attack.

The indictments in the unrelated incidents were announced Tuesday morning by Broome County District Attorney Michael Korchak.
