Binghamton Firefighters Hit the Streets to ‘Give Cancer the Boot’
The Binghamton Fire Department is once again proving that their dedication extends far beyond emergencies. Today, Friday, October 3, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., firefighters will be out at the intersection of Front Street and Clinton Street, hosting their annual “Give Cancer the Boot” fundraiser.
Small Donations, Big Impact
If you’re driving through the area, you’ll likely see the firefighters holding their boots high, inviting you to drop in spare change or maybe even something more. It’s a simple way to get involved, but every coin, every dollar, helps fuel life saving research in the fight against breast cancer.
Local Organizations Stand Together
At 11 a.m., members of the Broome County Health Department will also be on hand, offering their support and joining the effort. It’s a true community event, showing how local organizations can come together to make a real difference.

Supporting Research That Saves Lives
All proceeds will benefit the Baldwin Fund, a nonprofit launched in 2002 by Carol Baldwin. The fund is dedicated to advancing cancer research with a special focus on breast cancer prevention and treatment. The ultimate mission? To find a cure and save lives.
Joining Together to Make a Difference
The Binghamton Fire Department is encouraging everyone from residents and visitors alike to stop by and contribute. Whether you can make a big donation or just empty the change from your cupholder, every bit matters. Together, small acts of generosity add up to something powerful.

Solidarity in the Fight for a Cure
Breast cancer touches so many lives, right here in Broome County and beyond. This event is not just about fundraising; it’s about solidarity, hope, and the belief that, one day, we’ll see an end to cancer.
