It was a Bearcat kind of day at the Binghamton Bearcats  Baseball Complex.  The Bearcats turned in a remarkable performance and downed second seed Albany 18-4 on Thursday night in a winner's bracket game in the America East Baseball Championship Tournament.  Binghamton set school records for most runs and most hits (21)  in an America East tournament game.

Senior pitcher Nick Gallagher had little trouble recording the win as he went 8.1 innings to earn his fifth win of the season.  The Second-Team All Conference selection was never really tested.

Offensively, Binghamton exploded for three home runs including a grand slam shot from junior catcher T.J. Wegmann.  He got home run help from Shane Marshall with a two-run blast and Anthony Meduri who blasted a three-run home run as well for the Bearcats.

Binghamton was up 10-0 by the end of the third inning.  With the win Binghamton goes to 25-22.  Albany falls to 28-22.  The Great Danes entered the tournament as the number two seed and had won nine games in a row.  Included in the nine- game wining streak was a pair of victories over the Bearcats on May 11.

Binghamton advances to a winner's bracket game against regular season champion Stony Brook on Friday at 11:00 AM.  Stony Brook came from behind to defeat UMass Lowell 7-6 to advance to the
