Bearcats at Penn
The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team returns to action Saturday, January 2 when they meet the Penn Quakers.
This is the third meeting all-time between the two teams. Penn owns a 2-0 advantage in the series with a 65-54 win at home in 2012 and a 79-70 victory at the Events Center last December. Heading into the weekend the Quakers are 5-7 while the Bearcats are 3-9. Last time out the Quakers fell to 16th-ranked Villanova 77-57 while the Bearcats topped Mount St. Mary's 62-53 in Vestal.
In the win over the Mountaineers Willie Rodriguez notched a double-double with 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Rodriguez leads Binghamton in scoring with a 14.5 points per game average. Penn is paced by Darien Nelson-Henry who is scoring at a 12.9 points per game clip.
The Bearcats hope to have 6' 9" center Thomas Bruce available for duty. He has been sidelined with a wrist injury. This is the final non-conference game for the Bearcats. Binghamton returns home to open their America East schedule on Wednesday, January 6th at 7:00 p.m. against Stony Brook.
