The presentation normally takes place at the traditional gallery at the state capitol, but was done virtually this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

In the release, Assemblywoman Lupardo said “As Director of the Broome County Health Department, Rebecca has been at the center of the County’s response to COVID-19 since Day 1 of the pandemic. Her management of the Health Department over the last year has provided needed expertise during the worst public health crisis in a century.”

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said “I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition,”

The Broome County Health Department has provided News Radio 1290 WNBF with valuable information and updates throughout this pandemic and beyond.

All of us would like to send our Congratulations to Broome County Health Department Director Rebecca Kaufman for her much-deserved recognition of this award.
