Airshow Returns to Binghamton This Weekend
I remember it like it was yesterday. I'd see the airplanes and run to the playground by my grandparent's house. There, I'd sit on the very top of the tallest metal slide, a slide beat down on by the sun all day and one that left my legs stinging, but I didn't care. I was enthralled. The airshow was in town and I wasn't going to miss a minute of it.
It's been over a decade since I last attended an airshow in Binghamton and the details of all that I saw are a bit fuzzy, but I remember my 20-something-year-old self-enjoying walking around with my friends, flirting with pilots and crew. How times change. This year, I'll be visiting with my husband and our little boy.
The airshow will take place this Saturday, June 23rd at the Binghamton Airport. The show will feature a 10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team, The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, The Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, Vampire Airshows de Havilland DH-115, and more. Admission rates and parking apply.
Listen to Jay Franiak between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m all this week and when he tells you to call in, be caller number nine to 607-720-9801 and you'll win four tickets to Mountain Top View on Anoka Road (right near the airport) for the Binghamton K9 Unit Foundation fundraiser (and an amazing view of the airshow) this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. which features all you can eat, so plan on wearing stretchy pants!
