ACHIEVE Virtual Half K Classic Walk and Roll
Another community organization that helps individuals with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities is holding a virtual fundraiser.
Speaking on WNBF’s First News Binghamton Shari Caudell director of community engagement for Achieve said the organization serves over 2000 individuals in Broome, Chenango and Tioga counties, and is the largest volunteering provider.
Achieve offers a wide array of services from residential, community based services that include vocational training and much more.
Caudell says Achieve has been seriously impacted by the pandemic, as everyone in our community is struggling to stay active.
Shari said this would have been their second annual Achieve 5K Walk and Roll event, October 24th through the 31st last years event drew over 100 participants, but due to COVID-19 all of Achieves annual fundraising were changed to a virtual event.
Caudell says the virtual event gives us a good chance to get more people involved, because you have an entire week to participate in this virtual 5K event.
Registration is $20 with all proceeds going to ACHIVE to help with their programs and services for people they assist in our community.
Caudell says we are asking people, to share pictures and videos of their participation on our Facebook page.
All who participate will receive a ticket to the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich.
