A God Bless America Weekend on the Hawk
Country Music has always been woven into the fabric of America, and this weekend through the 4th of July, 98.1 the Hawk will be playing Country’s biggest stars with a special God Bless America weekend.
From Johnny Cash to Jason Aldean, America has a special place in the hearts of our country singers and songwriters.
The home towns and the battle grounds, leaving our loved ones and those who gave their lives so that we can continue to live in freedom.
The beautiful landscapes that many of us take for granted and our rights to choose the way we live have been immortalized in songs from Red Sovine, Waylon Jennings, Alabama, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban and Toby Keith.
Some of my favorite songs about this country go back to Ray Charles and his soulful version of ‘America the Beautiful’, David Balls ‘Riding with Private Malone’ and Lee Greenwood's classic ‘God Bless The USA’
You’ll hear those songs along with some of the newer country artists, like Justin Moore, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts.
Join us On Tuesday July 4th from Noon to 4pm for a very special salute to America hosted by the first couple of country Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.
