Binghamton's Press and Sun-Bulletin will continue to have a print edition but, starting soon, the newspaper's presses won't be located in Broome County.

The 12-year-old Gannett Central New York Production Facility in Johnson City is about to close. Printing jobs that have been handled at the massive plant on Gannett Drive off CFJ Boulevard are being shifted to the company's Rochester facility.

Gannett announced the plan to shut down the $50 million Johnson City facility in March. It said the move would affect nearly 100 employees who work at the site.

Printing operations at the Gannett Drive plant will be winding down over the next few days with Ithaca and Elmira newspaper production being shifted to Rochester first. By the end of the week, the last copy of the Binghamton paper is expected to roll off the Johnson City presses.

Distribution operations at the are expected to continue at the Gannett Drive site for the foreseeable future.
