Labor Day weekend might mean the unofficial end to summer, but nobody around here got that memo! We're all about living it up as long as we can before it's time to hibernate for winter. So, grab your friends and embrace all that Labor Day weekend has to offer in and around the Southern Tier!

    The 100th Greene Labor Day Picnic

    Monday, September 2 is a HUGE milestone this year for the Greene Labor day Picnic, as it's the 100th year for the celebration that attracts thousands of people to the village of Greene each year!

    The day begins at 8 a.m. on Genesee Street with the hose fights. If you don't know what the hose fights are, you're definitely going to want to take a look. You won't want to miss it!

    After the hose fights beginning around 10:15 a.m. A parade will go down Genesee Street.

    The fair opens at the Ball Flats after the parade concludes. There will be rides, games (including Bingo), food, and music all day. There will even be a "100 Years of Fashion Show" on the fair stage at 3:45 p.m.

    The day concludes with fireworks at 8:45 p.m., weather permitting.

    Museum Tours

    If you've always wanted to check out the Phelps Mansion Museum, this would be the time to do it! The museum will offer tours Saturday, August 31st from 11:00 a.m. to  5:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, September 1 also from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission rates apply.

    Farmers' Market

    Love fresh produce? Then you'll want to check out the Koo Koose Farmer's Market in Deposit on Saturday, August 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Think of all the great things you'll find for your Labor Day BBQ! The Farmer's Market is located in Memorial Park.

    Binghamton Rumble Ponies

    The baseball season is starting to wind down and if you've been wanting to check out a Rumble Ponies game, they're at home this weekend. The Rumble Ponies will play the Hartford Yard Goats Friday, August 30th through Labor Day which is Monday, September 2. See what times they play and how to get tickets here.

    If you have someone in your life who doesn't do so well with sensory overload, you might want to check out Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville on Thursday, August 29 from 5:30 p.m. to  7:30 p.m. The park has created this special time so that guests with sensory sensitivities, can enjoy the park without commotion.

    Get your zen on at the Binghamton Zoo with a yoga adventure on Saturday, August 31. This activity is suitable for all ages and you don't even need to bring a mat. You do however need to reserve your spot and remember that admission rates apply.
