My husband and his co-workers have a fantasy football team and part of the deal is that a different person hosts a get-together each week where everyone watches a game or two while munching on good eats.

Our hosting turn is coming up and I was trying to think of what I could make that everyone would like and that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg or take forever and a day to cook. And then I stumbled on this recipe for Italian steak sandwiches from Taste of Home.

I decided to give this recipe a try beforehand to make sure it really did taste good and it was nothing short of incredible. My husband and I chowed down like we hadn't eaten in years. This takes 10 minutes to make from start to finish and feeds about four people, so if you've got a crowd coming, double or triple the recipe and if you really want to stretch it out, serve on slider buns instead of full-sized buns.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
16 slices of deli roast beef
1/2 cup of beef broth
2 tablespoons of red wine (or you can use beef broth instead)
2 teaspoons of dried parsley flakes
2 teaspoons of dried basil
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon pepper
4 sandwich rolls
4 slices of provolone cheese
Sauteed mushrooms, onions and green peppers (optional)

Directions
In a frying pan, heat the olive oil on medium-high heat. Add garlic and pepper flakes, cooking (and stirring) for 1 minute. Add the roast beef, broth, wine and seasonings. Stir well and heat through. Put the beef on slices of rolls, drizzle with broth and top with cheese and sauteed veggies.

Note: You can freeze the meat mixture if you're not ready to eat it right away and want to save it for another day. The best way to do this is to allow the meat mixture to cool down and then put it in a freezer proof container with some of the juices. When you're ready to eat it, partially thaw out the mixture, then heat it in a frying pan. Add a little broth if you need to.
