The Great New York State Fair is next week in Syracuse. The theme is "Find Your Great." There are many great things happening. Here's one for the horse lovers.

It's the "World of Horses" exhibit and it'll show off New York's equine industry. You'll have the chance to get up close and personal with New York horses and find about their impact on agriculture and the economy.

They will also celebrate equestrian athletes that are competing in the Rio Summer Olympic Games. New York athletes taking part in the competition are Beezie Madden with horse Cortes C of Cazenovia and McLain Ward and horse HH Azur.

Both are gold medalists and are both competing in their fourth Olympic Games.

Madden and her horse, Authentic won Olympic team show jumping gold medals in 2004 and 2008, as well an individual bronze in 2008, making the horse the most decorated in Olympic history.

Ward won gold in team jumping in his first two Olympic appearances in 2004 and 2008 with his horse, Sapphire.

The World of Horses tent will have daily presentations of "Meet the Horses." You can see the different breeds of New York horses and learn about horses riding in the arena that day.

Every day there will be  "Caring for the Horse" presentations. Different topics like comparing the horse body to the human body, what a horse eats, horse safety, grooming, and more.

While you're there you can take a picture with New York horses and a full-size Olympic level show jump.

The World of Horses exhibit will be open from 10a-8p every day with the horses available until 7p. The final day September 5th (Labor Day), it'll be open from 10a-4p with the horses available until 2p.

The exhibit is free with Fair admission. To find out more about the World of Horses, go here.
