September 11th, 2001: Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning

It's hard to believe that it's been 13 years since the tragedy that changed everyone's life.  Most of us remember where we were and what we were doing on that morning. I'll never forget where I was, will you?

I remember that Sidney school was on a 2 hour delay because of a power problem.  I made an off the cuff remark about it being because of snow.  The whole morning show, we were talking about all the different areas that were having snow.

A fire company called in and told us they were having a big snow event at their firehouse and to bring the kids and snow boots. We had people calling from all over the Southern Tier.

Many couldn't believe that Sidney was getting all that snow and there was no snow where they were at, even though they were just miles away.  We had many people playing along and others that were just baffled.

We had other radio stations in the building asking us if we knew anything about the snow because they were getting calls. We called a meteorologist at 8:35 that morning and he said it wasn't snow but just a bad case of dandruff.

How little did we know that 10 minutes later that this event would happen that would change everyone's life forever. It turned a really good day into a really bad day.

We'll always remember where we were and in my case I have it all on tape. The last thing on it was me saying, that we had reports of a plane hitting a building in NYC.  I don't know why I stopped taping it there.

We will always remember the day and we should NEVER forget those who gave their lives to save others.  It makes me want to give an extra kiss to my kids and let those that I love know that I care for them.  What will you do?
