Midland thought they were dreaming when they got a call from Reba McEntire on Monday morning (March 26). The trio seemed to still be waking up when the legend called to inform them that they've been voted ACM New Vocal Group of the Year for 2018.

In fact, they were convinced it was a joke at first. No one believed the real McEntire was on the other end, but she did her best to assure them she was not a prank caller.

"This is the only one I know, yep it is," she says in the below clip, confirming it's her in her distinct Oklahoma accent.

Frontman Mark Wystrach still isn't completely sure, though, remarking: "Come on, this is not real."

Once the initial shock wears off, the guys unite in a hug as they roll down the road in their tour bus. And yes, they'll be at the ACMs on April 15, and they're eager to accept the hug McEntire offered them.

"We have no words," Wystrach later admits. "Usually we're a bunch of smart mouths and quick-witted gentleman, but we have nothing to say. This is unbelievable."

This marks Midland's first ACM Award, though they are also nominated for Vocal Group of the Year and Single Record of the Year for "Drinkin’ Problem" going into the 2018 ACM Awards.

The 53rd annual awards show airs live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS.
