Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning Pair Up for ‘Folsom Prison Blues’

Singer Luke Bryan and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning may seem like an unlikely pair, but they lit up the stage at a gala for the Indianapolis Children’s Hospital over the weekend, performing Johnny Cash‘s classic hit ‘Folsom Prison Blues.’

It was certainly a hilarious pairing, as Bryan — the newly crowned Entertainer of the Year — and the football superstar were obviously having a whole lot of fun. The country crooner was supposed to be the event’s main entertainer, but Manning joined him to do a little serenading himself. They covered the Man in Black’s hit as well as Waylon Jennings‘ ‘Luckenbach, Texas.’

Bryan donned his usual baseball cap and casual clothing, while Manning looked suave in a suit and tie. The low, gravely notes of ‘Folsom River Blues’ were a little difficult for the two entertainers to hit, but they did their best, and the crowd went wild throughout their number. With two handsome guys on stage, all the women in the crowd were probably thinking of the lyrics from the singer’s single, ‘I Don’t Want This Night to End.’

Bryan even did his best air guitar imitation with a few Elvis Presley dance moves as Manning looked on in laughter, adding the King’s iconic, “Thank you, thank you very much.” When watching the performance, you can’t help but smile as they’re both completely relaxed, having a great time together onstage.

It was an evening of high-quality entertainment — although Manning should probably stick with sports instead of singing. He gets an A for effort in trying to hit all those notes!
