Keith Urban to Open the New York State Fair

Time flies and it'll be here before you know it. I'm talking about the New York State Fair. It'll be the 1st time in 40 years that the concert will be at a different venue. It'll replace the fair's just demolished grandstand.

They announced the opening act this year. Great news: It's a country act that's rocked the New York State Fair in the past.

Keith Urban will perform at the Lakeview Amphitheater on August 25th, the opening day of the 2016 State Fair in Syracuse.

This year the concert will be at the nearby amphitheater. It's the same place that Miranda Lambert performed at during last year's State Fair.

Keith played at the old State Fair grandstand in 2012. The venue was demolished by controlled explosions last Saturday (1/9) to make way for a new recreational vehicle park.

It was part of the state's $50 million renovation underway at the fairgrounds. The New York State Fair runs August 25th to September 5th.
