Today is World Wish Day. To celebrate, Dunkin' Donuts and Make-A-Wish Central New York are getting together to help show the power of a wish. A Southern Tier Wish Kid and his family will help kick it off this morning at 11am.

Beginning today (4/29) through 5/7, everyone who gives a dollar to Make-A-Wish at participating local Dunkin' Donuts will get a Make-A-Wish Star Donut while supplies last. Southern Tier Wish Kid Dallas Mielk-Bresee and his family will be at the 216 Reynolds Road, Johnson City location to kick it off at 11am today.

All donations will benefit Make-A-Wish Central NY, which serves kids and families in the Southern Tier and Central New York.

World Wish Day celebrates the day Chris Greicius received his wish to be a police officer for the day.  It inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish. Since the first wish in 1980, more than 300,000 children around the world have had their wishes fulfilled by Make-A-Wish.

Every 38 minutes, Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition somewhere in the world. It's a great cause and you get a wonderful tasting doughnut too.

If you want to donate to Make-A-Wish go here.  To learn more about World Wish Day, go here.  My wish is for you to stop by Dunkin' Donuts and do what I did and donate a buck.
