The Champions Tour announced the best tournaments of the 2014 season. DICK'S Sporting Goods Open was a winner for the 3rd straight year!

4 specific categories are recognized – the President’s Award, the Players Award, the Tournament Business Affairs Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award.

I have good and bad news for the DICK'S Sporting Goods Open. The DSG Open won the biggie the last 2 years, the President's Award. They didn't win this year (that's the bad news), but here's the good news!

DICK'S Sporting Goods Open wins the Players Award! It's an award voted on by the Players of the Champions tour. The tournament gained worldwide publicity mainly due to the record-setting 13-under 59 shot by rookie, Kevin Sutherland in the 2nd round.

Bernhard Langer won the event, one of his five wins this year. The excellent condition of the En-Joie Golf Course, the engaged community, the friendly tournament staff and sponsors.

The concert that compliments the event, this year featured the Zac Brown Band, was also a contributing factor to it's huge success.

The 2015 DICK'S Sporting Good Open will be here before you know it! It'll be a little later next year, with plans to be held August 24th-30th, the week before Labor Day.

Wendy's Walk for Kids will be back again next year and no I don't know who will be performing in the concert segment. Go here to keep up with all the DSG Open activities!
