Florida Georgia Line will join Hank Williams, Jr. and pop-R&B star Jason Derulo for a new version of ESPN's Monday Night Football theme, debuting this fall. In a new interview with Fox and Friends, the guys told host Brian Kilmeade how excited they are for the opportunity.

“Man, it was a huge collaboration, something that we were blown away that we were able to be a part of and I’m just going to say, we took an iconic song, a historic song, that we grew up listening to and said hey, screaming, ‘Are you ready for some football?’ We took that song man and took it to the next level,” Tyler Hubbard says.

Even Derulo — who has become quite immersed in the country world lately through his deepening friendship with Luke Bryan — is excited for the gig. “I feel the opening song sets the tone and energizes the fans before kickoff, and this year I’m putting my swag on it,” he says.

It’s not the first time FGL have been a part of a unique pairing. The guys recorded a now-famous version of “Cruise” with rapper Nelly, and they’ve recently hit No. 1 with their collaboration with the Backstreet Boys, “God, Your Mama and Me.”

“If you told me growing up that I would share a No. 1 song with BSB, I would have told you to get outta here! Dream big, work hard, surround yourself with an amazing team and anything is possible,” Brian Kelley comments of the news.

“We’re fans of each other and that’s one of the reasons why the song works so well,” Backstreet Boy Nick Carter adds. “I’m glad it’s with these boys that we just reached No. 1 at country radio for the first time.”

Florida Georgia Line are on the road this summer with their Smooth Tour, withBackstreet Boys appearing on select dates. The first Monday Night Football game is slated for Sept. 11 on ESPN. Fellow country star Carrie Underwood has also been tapped to return for the Sunday Night Football theme this year, which runs on NBC.
