Earth Day and Tara’s Tradition

Today as you know is Earth Day.  This is a tradition that Tara and I started a couple of years ago.  Ok, it was Tara's idea but I like it so much that I want partial credit.

Tara likes to pick up the trash on River Road a couple times a month from Spring til Fall. Tara came up with the idea of starting this ritual on Earth Day. It's kind of like changing your batteries in your smoke detector every time we set our clocks forward or back.

So this is how she did today.  She has all the trash in the bag from the street in her hands.  Sometimes we get lucky and find something of value to keep (a 5 cent returnable can, which can be worth 6 if you take it the Can Man.)  No luck today. By the way if your wondering, yes those are DJ headphones that are on the front of her shirt.

She cares about the Earth and likes to do her part in our area.  I couldn't be prouder....Now if I could only get her to clean her room.
