Some of you may remember "Bowling for Dollars." Well I have something better, it's "Dining for Dollars." What??? It's a yearly fundraiser that Faith in Action Volunteers (FIAV) puts on that benefits it's volunteers.

First, what is FIAV? It's a program with the Broome County Council of Churches. The volunteers assist Broome County adults 60 and over with their quality of life and independence.

They provide non-medical services like transportation for medical appointments. That's just a small part of what they do, go here to find out more.

So what is Dining for Dollars? It's one of their two yearly fundraisers at the Polish Community Center on October 12th with a 5:30 social hour and 6:30 meal. Local clergy will serve the home style meal and sing together to help get tips for Faith in Action.

This year, they are getting assistance from five "guest servers" including our very own Roger Neel. Other guest servers are Senator Fred Akshar, Sheriff David Harder, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and weatherman Mick Dwyer.
