Dairy Day is back and is celebrating its 40th anniversary. It celebrates New York's dairy farmers and it happens today, Monday, August 29th. It began with a Recognition & Awards Breakfast at 9am.

At the breakfast, the winners of the New York State Fair Dairy Products Competition were announced. It includes entries in the cheese, fluid milk and other dairy products categories.

The Celebrity Milkshake Contest will be at 10:30am in the Chevy Court Pavilion followed by the "Big Cheese" auction at 11am. You can bid on large and small blocks of New York State cheese.

The Dairy Day Parade wraps up the festivities with its parade beginning at 6pm.

Speaking of dairy, the Dairy Cow Birthing Center is a free and educational exhibit where you can see the live birth of baby calves every day. There will be 36 cows from six family-owned dairy farms from the Southern Tier and Central New York.

The Birthing Center is in a new location It's just past the Midway, next to the new picnic area. Still can't find it? Look for a big inflatable cow that will mark the location. Talk about a moooooving experience.
