Binghamton University player Jake Thomas becomes the 10th Bearcat to be drafted by Major League Baseball and the 4th in the last 4 years.

He was picked by Toronto in the 27th round.

Jake was on the America East All-Conference 1st team in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

Toronto were one of the teams that had contacted him but he wasn't sure when he would be drafted or who would draft him. Toronto called him in the 22nd round. They let him know that they were interested in him in the next couple of rounds.

A friend of his actually texted him and told him "congratulation" before he heard from the Blue Jays. He figured he was about to be picked and then he was.

He added that it was a pretty sweet moment for him. He finished his career at Binghamton in the school's top 10 in every offensive category.

Congratulations to Jake.
