Things continue to look great for the 1st place Binghamton Mets. They lead the Eastern Division by 11 and a half over the Trenton Thunder. They are going to make the playoffs for the first time in several years. Now let's add, Mark Cohoon as the Eastern League Pitcher of the week.

Binghamton Mets starting pitcher Mark Cohoon has been named Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 5-11. Cohoon won both of his starts during the stretch, allowing one earned run over 13 innings. He struck out six and gave up just nine hits in wins over Altoona and Erie.

He's in his fourth season with the B-Mets. He holds the team record for most innings pitched (371.1) and ranks second with 62 career starts. Cohoon has won each of his last four starts with a 1.78 ERA.

Today is the final off day of the regular season. Tomorrow they begin a three game series against the Reading Fightin Phils at 7:05. The B-Mets will be home on Friday for a 6 game home stand.
