You Can Now Recycle Your Legos for Free in Central New York

If your Central New York house is full of Lego bricks, and your kids are grown, there's a new way to recycle the bricks and get them into the hands of kids in need.

If your house is anything like mine - full of toys my grown kids no longer play with, you might be looking for a way to recycle those toys so they don't end up in a landfill. In the best case, all those toys could be passed on to a new generation of kids.

Lego is stepping up to help recycle all those bricks you have laying around. Not only will their new program keep the plastic from being added to the trash, they'll even get the Legos to kids in need.

Lego is partnering with GiveBackBox.com to recycle, wash, and re-distribute used Legos. All you need to do is print out a FREE shipping label, put the Legos in a box, and ship them off. From there, broken Legos will be sorted out, and good ones will be washed and "given to Teach for America, a nonprofit that will donate them to classrooms across the United States. Some bricks will be also sent to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston for their after-school programs," according to News10.com.
