Authorities are investigating a fatal residential fire near Broome County's Greenwood Park.

According to the sheriff's office, a woman died as a result of the blaze in a mobile home at 559 Caldwell Hill Road in the town of Lisle. The fire was reported around 12:05 a.m. Thursday.

The Glen Aubrey fire department was assisted at the scene by multiple other agencies.

After the fire was knocked down, the body of 71-year-old Sharon Humistan was found inside the residence. An autopsy determined she died as the result of asphyxiation due to carbon monoxide inhalation.

Fire investigators have not made an official determination of the cause of the blaze but they don't believe it to have been of suspicious origin.
