I ran across an interesting article a few days ago about the most dog-friendly places in the United States and was pretty surprised by the results. I thought for sure that New York would have at least picked up a spot in at least one or two of the categories, but no.

A recent study by Veterinary Naturals looked at cities across the United States and rankled cities by various dog-friendly establishments and New York didn't make the top 10 in a single category. Surprising, isn't it?

The top ten cities with the most dog-friendly establishments overall are, according to this study, Charleston, Miami, Portland, Oxnard (in CA), Honolulu, Tampa, San Diego, Oakland, Austin, and Long Beach. That's right, four of the top ten cities are all located in California.

Sure, we're not in California and we're not even considered a big city, but the people of the Southern Tier love their dogs, celebrating their dogs, and playing with their pups. If you're looking for a place to play with your pooch, you might want to check out one of these locations!
