For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why people had no problem eating marshmallows but couldn’t swallow Peeps and then it hit me, it’s got to be the over-the-top sugariness of Peeps that they don't like. That’s the only thing I can think of.

I’m not the biggest fan of Peeps, but my son is. Then again, what six-year-old isn’t a fan of cramming their face with mostly forbidden junk food? I did cave recently and made Peeps Rice Krispies treats and have to admit that although I’ve got something of an aversion to Peeps, the treats were phenomenal.

And then there’s Peeps creamer, which I’ve not been able to find in stores this year, but last year, oh, glorious day! I know, I sound like a walking contradiction. I don’t like Peeps, but I do. Sometimes. Who said a person has to be decisive all of the time?

Anyway, Peeps are popping up everywhere this spring as the brand has teamed up with other brands from Crocs to Funko Pop toys and now to Pepsi. Pepsi just released a limited-edition flavor and I’m guessing you have an idea what that flavor is. Yep, marshmallow flavored Pepsi. No, this isn’t a stunt in time for April Fools’ Day.

Peeps haven’t had the best year so it makes sense they would partner with other brands, perhaps in an attempt to boost sales to make a dent in the damage that 2020 caused. In the last year, the Just Born (the parent company of Peeps) factory was forced to halt production several times thanks to coronavirus and because of that, the company didn’t even produce any candies for Halloween, Christmas, or Valentine's Day. Just born is famous not only for Peeps, but also for Just Born Jelly Beans, Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales, and Goldenburg’s Peanut Chews.

So, where can you get your hands on one of the limited edition Pepsi x Peeps drinks (which come in a three-pack as 7.5-ounce mini cans in yellow, pink, and blue colors)?  Not in any stores, unfortunately.

The only way to get in on the limited edition Pepsi X Peeps soda is to participate in a sweepstake put on by both companies. You've got until Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 11:59:59 p.m. to enter and you can find out how to do that here.
