The Parlor City Oktoberfest is just days away. Its going to be an amazing day full of live music, delicious food, and of course beer. Now, before you go to the Oktoberfest, let’s talk about what brews you will encounter.

Southern Tier Brewing Company has quickly become one of my favorite breweries long before joining the Hawk. STBC is bringing three delicious beers with them. They will be selling their Live beer which is a pale ale. If you like citrusy and floral brews this is one you have to try.

They will also have their Harvest Ale which is their Extra Special Bitter. This is an English style beer which is great for fall time festivals. Southern Tier’s Pumking is the king of pumpkin beers and packs a nice autumn punch. This beer is great for drinking outside and listening to live polka music from the John Stevens Doubleshot Polka Band.

Our neighbors from Galaxy Brewery will be onsite with their Octoberfest beer. I actually had a few pints of this brew a few weeks ago with their lamb burger, and I enjoyed every last ounce. Galaxy describes their Octoberfest as “a traditional German Marzen Lager” with “Munich Malt forward with a touch of caramel notes,” aka it is a delicious offering.

The Parlor City Oktoberfest will also feature Yuengling’s Oktoberfest and Sam Adam’s Oktoberfest, along with that American staple Bud Light. Mountain Top Grove, Hance Road in Vestal, will also have a few traditional German bottled beers for you to enjoy. Paulaner Hefe-Weizen is a nice golden beer that is refreshing, and in my experience has a delicious note of banana. If lager is more of your thing, you can grab a bottle of Spaten Premium Lager.

I’m excited to have a few drinks with all of our listeners this Saturday and I hope you will join me in my Lederhosen!

The Parlor City Oktoberfest happens October 14th at Mountain Top Grove on Hance Road in Vestal. It will feature tons of live music and an exclusive, traditional German food menu that will only be available at this event. Strange Brew will be onsite providing delicious German desserts as well. We hope to see you there!
