There was another new league that started this past spring that included everyone and I love it. It was the "New York State High School Clay Target League" Schools and student-athletes from all over the state were invited to participate in New York's safest high school sport.

The Waverly Skeet Team is in partnership with the Waverly Sportsman's Club and they compete against other New York State High Schools. There are many different divisions including girls division, boys division, novice boys, and novice girls, along with JV and Varsity divisions.

New York State High School Clay Target League State Champions

After a five-week regular season, it was on to the state championships at the Dewitt Fish & Game Club in Jamesville. The regular season came to an end earlier this month and congratulations go out to the Waverly Wolverines Skeet Team.

They are the 2022 New York State High School Clay Target League State Champions. Waverly senior Cayden Turcsik was the top shooter in the state and the individual gold medalist lead his team to the 2022 State Championship title.

You can see how the rest of the team did here. The National Championship will be held in Mason Michigan from July 6-10. I don't know if the Wolverines are participating but either way, awesome job keeping your eye on the target, and congratulations on a job well done.
