Two Cortland County men are accused of manufacturing methamphetamine after Sheriff’s Deputies found them walking the wrong way on New York Route 281 in the Town of Homer early in the morning December 28.

47-year-old Terry Maricle of Cortland and 48-year-old Michael Martin Senior of the Town of Cortlandville face numerous charges and were sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail.

Sheriff’s Deputies say at 3:04 a.m., they saw two people walking in the same direction as traffic on the road and investigated.  Authorities say that’s when they found Maricle and Martin were in possession of materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.  Maricle also allegedly had marijuana in his possession.

Maricle and Martin are each charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, misdemeanor criminal use of drug paraphernalia and violations of failing to walk facing traffic.  Maricle is also charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana while Martin is charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.
