
Vestal Community Band Brings Free Thursday Night Concerts to Arnold Park
Are you looking for something fun, free, and relaxing to do on a summer night in Vestal? The Vestal Community Band is back with its Thursday Night Concert Series at Arnold Park, and it’s the perfect way to wind down your day with some live music and hometown charm.

These weekly concerts are held behind Shelter #3 at Arnold Park and begin at 6:30 PM. Each performance is about an hour just enough time to enjoy the music without keeping the kids out too late.
A Family-Friendly Night Out
Speaking of little ones, there’ll be face painting for the kids, so the concerts are definitely family-friendly. You can bring a blanket or lawn chairs, kick back, and let the music do its thing while the kids stay entertained. It’s a sweet little slice of small town summer life that brings the community together in the best way.
Save the Dates
We'll kick off the 2025 concert series with them on July 10th. They let me be the guest conductor last year and I'm coming back again this year. I'm bringing my conductor baton and I hope to use it again this year.
The rest of the concert dates are July 17, July 24, July 31, August 14, and August 21. Be sure to mark your calendar so you don’t miss out. In case of rain, the band will decide at the start of the concert whether or not it’s safe to perform. Remember that if a show is canceled due to weather, it won’t be rescheduled.
A Band with Heart and History
The Vestal Community Band has been around for over 30 years and is made up of experienced, passionate musicians from around the area. The group is conducted by Gail Markstein and performs regularly at parks, schools, community events, and even long-term care facilities. They rehearse genuinely enjoy sharing their love of music with others.

These concerts are completely free and open to the public, making them a great way to enjoy local talent without spending a dime. Whether you’re a long-time fan or hearing about the band for the first time, their summer concert series is a simple way to connect with your community.

If you want a Vestal Community Band sneak peak, they are having a free concert to benefit CHOW on June 19th. It'll take place at the Valleyview Alliance Church, 11 Foster Road in Vestal beginning at 6:30 p.m. You are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item for CHOW while enjoying some ice cream.
